No, it was Jack Warner, much loved brother of "Gert & Daisy".(Elsie & Doris Walters.)
Jack played DIXON OF DOCK GREEN . the opening line of the tv series was "Eve'nin all"

"Hello , hello hello, what's going on 'ere then" is legend. PC Plod's (thanks to Enid Blyton) are supposed to say it on arrival at a crime scene.
Oft lampooned by the likes of JOHN CLEESE & others

I remember that Robert, I used to enjoy watching Dixon of Dock Green.

They don't make them like that these days
