Re: Old people: A burden?
I don't like this idea of anyone being a burden, even when people are ill or dying they are still wanted and needed by their families, no one wants to see them dead, so how is that being a burden ?Re: Old people: A burden?
I think we are both a 5. We have a generation of grandchildren to support (particularly my daughter's children). Can't slip off this mortal coil yet or become dependent on anyone else - too much work and responsibility (financial and emotional) for our foreseeable futures.Re: Old people: A burden?
I'm about a four at the moment, but expect to become a two or one in about 5-10 years! Being disabled I will be a burden to my children when I get to the stage where I need care. I have told all of them to put me in a home when that day comes and they're not to feel guilty about it, as long as I have a pencil & paper to draw with I will be happy. I will not expect them to give up their lives for me.
