Re: Today's garden visitor

more like 5" long, but we have (or had) one that lived in the rock wall of the fish pond, a full grown eyed lizard and he was really big. No idea what happened to him, we only saw him once last year but maybe he'll be back this year. We also have a couple of fairly large ones who appear to live under the washing machine, a really tiny one who appeared now and then from behind a pedestal washbasin but there is no pedestal now so I don't know where he's gone, and last year we had a really tiny one which used to run out and sit on the sink tap in the kitchen. They fascinate me because when they run away you can never see where they go, they just seem to vanish into thin air.

Re: Today's garden visitor

I have one in my garden too called a Blue Tongue lizard, see if you can guess how it got its name

Its about a foot long, very slow, you can pick them up easily. He eats snails and skinks (small lizards which are everywhere)

He's lovely Bruce. We used to get some real beauties in our garden in Kenya, Some pretty coloured snakes too but we kept a very safe distance from them, although we did have a few near misses on occasions.
