Re: Casserole

Yes I think so - take account of different cooking times (maybe get over that by cutting in diferent sizes?) I wouldn't put any cabbage type stuff in, unless it was a real cabbage dish, like gammon hock with cabbage, but any root veg is fine.

Re: Casserole

If I've had a few sprouts left over, I've even sliced them up thinly and added them to the casserole before now .....as MM says, anything goes!

Re: Casserole

Sprouts? Yes, of course - I'd never have thought of that but I can see that it would work

Re: Casserole

Casserole's are so nice because you have everything in one dish and I think adding veggies would be great.

Re: Casserole

If you like celery, chop up a few sticks and throw in with the rest of the veg as it all adds to the flavour

Re: Casserole

Mmm, yes - nice
leeks cut into tings/chunks
little white turnips, whole
canned sweetcorn
any kind of bean, from a can of baked beans to butter beans and red kidney beans
oh yum, I could get hungry just reading
