How would you have handled it?

When I returned from a walk this morning my husband was spitting bullets. A woman had phoned him SIX times, one call after the other demanding to speak to someone called Sheila. He told her each time that this Sheila didn't live here and never had done.

As he was telling me this the phone rang again, the same woman. She sounded elderly and I explained politely that she had the wrong number and Sheila didn't live here. Five more calls in quick succession and I got cross. I told her in no uncertain terms if she dared to phone again I would contact the police. The calls stopped.

I suspect the poor woman could have been suffering from dementia, but obviously wasn't going to put up with her phoning us all the time, otherwise we would have been crawling the walls.

What would you have done?

I would have put the wife on, told her to pretend that she was Sheila.

Get a loud whistle and give her a good blast, she will soon get sick of that.
