Happy retirement

I retired yesterday and amidst all the emotions was the thought, 'It was the right thing to do.'

A dear friend sent the following, how beautiful and I want to share it with anyone who wants to listen.

Su darlin' I met Joan Baez personally many, many years ago (at a Vietnam War demonstration) in London - lovely lady.

Congratulations on your retirement and may it be a long and happy one.

Re: Happy retirement

Enjoy your retirement and make the most of it.

I was fortunate to be able to retire early (end of 1999)
.

Joan Baez is a favourite of mine

Here is another version of that Bob Dylan classic.

Re: Happy retirement

Happy retirement Sue!! - although I don't think I've ever been busier (or happier) since I retired.
On a musical note, I much prefer Bob Dylan's own version of the song - Joan Baez (and her voice) was always a bit too saccharine-sweet for me. I prefer my music with some rough edges!

Re: Happy retirement

Enjoy your retirement Sue. Did you retire from being a hospital DJ as well?
Joan Baez was a bit of a hero of mine back in the 60's - she still is really. Lovely lady and a beautiful composition of Dylan's. Unlike Mick B, I much prefer her version over his - as a poet and musician - superb, but a songbird he never was.
