Thought for the day

This calls to mind Pierre Elliott Trudeau (1919-2000), former Canadian Prime Minister, who declined treatment for advanced prostate cancer because he had also been told he was in the early stages of dementia.

I liked Pierre, that was brave of him and he lived a true end.

Re: Thought for the day

I agree that quality of life is much better than quantity. There is no point in treating people for a physical condition if they have dementia, imo. Palliative care and keeping them as comfortable as possible should be the way forward. This is what we insisted upon for our late mother, we saw no point in having her condition treated, which would have caused her a lot of discomfort and upset.
