Ever Decreasing Circles has got to be in the top ten of hilariously funny sitcoms...to my mind his best work on television.

Thats sad I loved him in The Good Life and Ever Decreasing Circles and he has had small roles in a some of the crime dramas recently. RIP Richard

Yes, very sad to hear of this. He was interviewed only the other day when he admitted his smoking habit was killing him. Too soon afterwards, it seems!!

I too loved EDC and the Good Life. Very funny man. Condolences to his family and friends.

I really didn't go much for sit-coms so I didn't see much of his work, but by all accounts he was a genuinely nice bloke....

Another fan of Richard Briars here .
He provided some great entertainment over the years not only the well known and loved TV series but also theatre, radio plays and the voice of 'Fiver' in Watership Down.

He will be missed...
