Starting over again

If you could go back in time and 'choose' your career - what would you choose to do...
I would have chosen to be a Jazz singer and pianist

Re: Starting over again

I have always wanted to be a Funeral Embalmer since I left school, but they would only take on boys/men, I still would like to do that, but now my age is against me, as they have only let women do this job about 5 years ago.

I wanted to be a policewoman but "back" then, policewomen weren't given the same opportunities as men and I was talked out of it by the policemen who were friends of ours!

Re: Starting over again

I think I would like to have been a coroner, doing all the opening up the body and finding out cause of death.
Opening up the front cutting the ribs and lifting the top of the skull.
I would find that exciting and rewarding.

Re: Starting over again

I wanted to be a vet and used to help out at the local PDSA clinic after school hours by cleaning out cages, feeding etc but I wasn't tough enough and always broke down when sick and unwanted pets were put down.

Re: Starting over again

I wanted to be a lumberjack... leaping from tree to tree as they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia. The giant Redwood, the larch, the fir, the mighty scots pine... The smell of fresh cut timber; the crash of mighty trees, with my best girly by my side... I'd...

Oooops I feel a sketch coming on... I must resist...

I would have liked to have a small mixed goods shop...one that sold a bit of everything. Think I would have been good at that.

Arthur matey, a Coroner doesn't do that - a Coroner is legally (not always medically) qualified and hears evidence in court where the cause of death is uncertain and S/He (plus sometimes a jury) have to determine the cause of death. What you are describing is a Home Office Pathologist.
