Valentine's Day

.
Valentine's Day February 14 2013
.

.
Valentine's Day (Saint Valentine's Day) is an occasion celebrated on February 14.

It is the traditional day on which people express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery.

Each year in Britain, we spend a small fortune on cards, flowers, chocolates and other gifts for Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day symbols include red or pink hearts, red roses, teddy bears with roses or hearts and couples kissing or holding each other.

These symbols are printed on cards, wrapping paper, lingerie and clothing and made of chocolate or other types of food.

Pictures or models of Cupid are also often displayed in the run up to and on Valentine's Day in the UK.

Cupid is usually portrayed as a small winged figure with a bow and arrow.

According to mythology, he uses his bow and arrow to strike romantic love into people's hearts.

Why not play some romantic music in the background...

Here is one example to get you started...

Whitney Houston

was an American recording artist, actress, producer, and model.

In 2009, the Guinness World Records cited her as the most awarded female act of all time.

Born: August 9, 1963, Newark / Died: February 11, 2012, Beverly Hills

She was probably one of the biggest female pop stars of all time.

I Will Always Love You
is a very appropriate song for Valentine's Day 2013

Re: Valentine's Day

I think we used to send Valentine's cards to each other when we were teenagers, but haven't bothered since we married nearly 44 years ago. Romantic gestures aren't us.

I'm with you on that Willow. 40 years this year - I don't think we need flowers and cards to remind us!

Re: Valentine's Day

We still send Valentine cards after 48 yrs together ,although we don`t need a special day to remind us of our love, not a day goes by without my husband saying I love you as soon as he wakes .

You are never too old to have a Happy Valentine’s Day!

Just because we are no longer spring chickens, doesn’t mean we have to skip that special day.

Give someone you care about a free hug.

Re: Valentine's Day

I think that if my boyfriend gave me a valentine card I would faint on the spot. He's never been very romantic, I'm afraid.

Re: Valentine's Day

I love you, I love you, I truly do.
There’s absolutely nothing I wouldn’t do for you,
Ask! Go on, just ask. Ask me to – to – fly!
Ask me to rob that bank there, anything!

God, I love you so much it hurts.
There’s no hardship I wouldn’t endure for you, love.
I’d – I’d jump off that bridge! I would!
I’d go without food for a week – AND drink!

You don’t believe I’d give up my car, my dog, anything
Do you?
Well, I would, see.
But I must go love. See you Friday ….
If it isn’t raining..
