Michael Winner

I've just seen in the news that Michael Winner died today.
He was 77 years of age. A very good director but went down in my estimation when he made those 'calm down dear' adverts.
RIP Michael.

Not a fan - reminded me of 'Hitchcock' no fan of him either...
The 'Death Wish' films - violence for violence sake...switched off..

I am very sorry to hear Michael Winner has died, although I knew he had suffered quite a long illness. I think he did the Esure adverts well - funny and cleverly done. I also thought him a good director, a man with great humour, creativity and intelligence. He will be missed.

I just here'd on the news, not a bad age. Was never really a fan. Never liked the adverts for esure.

To my mind he made the most iconic film of the sixties called "The System".

One of the stars was a very good actress called Julia Foster who married a vet and stopped making films after her son (Ben Fogal) was born, she appeared in one of the Esure ads with him.

Sad loss and a great director.
