FLORIAN's FRIGHTFUL FORENAME
Florian hated his name.What were his parents thinking of in giving such an albatross of a name to a poor innocent child.
“Florian”
he said the name quietly & then out loud yelling at the top of his voice.
“Bloody FLORIAN”.

As a child I always hated my name Barry because I thought it sounded sissy. If anyone asked my name I would mumble so that they thought I had said Brian, which I thought was much better. In my teens though everyone called me Baz, but when I was courting my first wife she never thought to ask my real name and told all of her family that my name was Basil...

Glad TO hear you like your name ANNIE.I started this piece off, fully intending to write a short story, but lost interest in the plot. I prefer to write biographical stuff.
Oh and poetry.
I knew a Florian once . He was a one eyed ginger lapsed Jehovah's witness exiled from Tristan da Cunha. He had a transvestite twin brother/sister known as Nancy.
We worked together in "Grace Brothers" the old fashioned Department store in Chorlton cum Hardy.
Nancy, that is, not Florian.
