Yes -a good actor - I think he had been ill for quite a time as I cannot recall seeing him on the box in a while?

Re: Gone recently :(

I loved that series "Callan " and the figure "Lonely" played by Russell Hunter (who died in 2004). I watched every episode back in the late '60's up to the end of the series in '72. Saw Edward Woodward in other films as well and on telly.

He also played in "Wicker Man".

He went thru a triple by-pass a good few years ago, I think.

RIP Edward.

Paul O'Grady's dog Buster was PTS yesterday, he was suffering from cancer, he was 14 years old, Run free Buster. He was a canine celeb.

Poor Buster, it was only a week ago that Paul O' Grady held a retirement day for Buster on one of his programmes. He was devoted to that little dog

Re: Gone recently :(

Today saw the sad loss of Coronation Street actress Maggie Jones, who was a great favourite of so many.

She had also appeared in other TV favourites including The Barchester Chronicles, The Beiderbecke Tapes, Sharon and Elsie, We'll Think Of Something, The Nesbitts Are Coming and Lovely Couple, alongside Pauline Quirke.

RIP Maggie
