Two more attempts to get the magnetic catch to work - - - two more attempts failed.

Should have remembered the old saying if at first you don't succeed give up.

The magnetic catch is now fixed in the correct position and functioning perfectly.
Did I accomplish the task? You jest if you think I did.
A friend (a qualified electrician) saw my plight on facebook and came to my aid.
