It was too big to eat at one sitting so I had some yesterday and the rest about half an hour ago. Lush.

I really dislike being given a plate with all the food already on it. Much prefer to sit at the table - with the food in proper serving dishes and choose for myself.

Once - and only once - had Christmas lunch with friends who had two Labrador dogs. Was handed a lap tray on which was a plate piled high with food. All the time we were eating the dogs were prowling, drooling and breathing over the food. Made me feel quite ill.

Hi

Mine was a full roast turkey with veg on a plate on a bed tray on the ward.

It was great, eaten one handed, with Christmas pud and white sauce.

Heaven.

At Foxy's establishment all cooked meals are eaten at the large kitchen table Arty. However, Christmas dinner was enjoyed by five of us at the specially prepared table in the lounge (long story) phones and TV are banned until all three courses had been consumed, and crackers pulled, but gentle conversation is acceptable, together with a fine bottle of Claret....

You should have said. I could have sent you some by post. Look out for some flour, eggs, and milk in your letterbox.

Re: How Many Of You Ate Your Christmas Dinner Off A Tray, In Front Of The Television?

After Christmas breakfast we gave each other presents then I spent the rest of the morning helping my son install a solar panel on his car.

We decided to to have a late lunch/dinner because the weather was good and improving.

I fired up the barbie about 2pm and cooked snags, eggs, hash browns, mushrooms, onions and a few other odds and ends as well as fresh rolls and Christmas pudd. Because there was only the two of use the steaks and chops were not cooked.

Anyway we did sit down at a table in the garden to eat our meal and enjoyed a couple of beers with our meal. No TV!

It was pleasant enough given the circumstances without the grandkids and rest of the family from the ACT - they could have visited BUT would have had to spend 14 days in quarantine upon their return to the territory.

Cleared the accumulated 364 days of crap off the dining table and was civilised for one annual meal.
