When I looked at the ballot paper I saw that there was an Independent person on it too

No idea what their policies might be, so poooo .... I might have voted for them who knows

We only had a mayoral vote (and that was for a mayor with limited powers).

At 3.15 only 72 had voted. And that was out of about 1100 eligible voters.
