I hold doors open for everyone. Sometimes you'll see a gentleman hesitate out of habit. But being polite is just plain being polite. Same thing in a situation where there is limited seating. I would offer up my seat to anyone who looks like they need it more.

I did once hold a door open for a female type person and I got a real gob shite response back. I seldom swear-`it`s just a door-and one may suggest one gets a life? Wit,sardonism is wasted on so many.
