I don't drive, but my daughter & I go to Middlesborough North Yorkshire from here South West Devon, at least once a year. Quite a straight forward journey with all the M ways now. I couldn't believe how much traffic is up that way though.

We are booked to go back to the Highlands next year but will be staying overnight around the Kendal area. (Well I am older )

It's so interesting to read about your drives, to the point that I've looked up some on the map.

Our day was a long one, but the traffic was light, despited getting stopped on the Mobile Bay bridge for 45 minutes for an early morning automobile accident. Here are a few pictures of the trip taken by my co-pilot.

That looks a fun drive I drove across the States in August, starting in San Diego as I wanted to say hello to the pandas in the Zoo and getting as far across East as Lexington, Nebraska to see the full eclipse and then heading up North to Rushmore, I love driving in the US.

drove from wales to Harwich,,8 hr ferry crossing to Hook of Holland,then to Dresden (old east Germany).a fair bit of driving,but a fair part of it on the ferry.
