Have had a varied career, starting off with the Merchant Navy which I was planning to make a permanent career, but due to an accident, that career was terminated abruptly. For some years thereafter I was employed in the offices in British Rail and National Carriers. I was made redundant from there and worked for Shell oil for some years, again in the offices, which is how I managed to get to Siberia. A spell in Local Government followed (as a welfare rights adviser) but that too came to end when the council pulled the plug on the funding. A year in a residential College (they tried to teach me politics ) I knew as much about it as the tutor!!! On return to Brighton I did some temporary work until ill-health caught up with me and brought about my early retirement.

I'll leave you to work that one out - its not that hard if you remember someone else who was called 'Uncle Joe' - think Josef Djugashvili.

Mine was Tosca at Earls Court, the set totally filled the stadium...but that's enough from me!
