Re: Storms

Our threatened storm has just arrived!

The wind has dropped - all the birds have vanished from the garden - and the air pressure is painful! My head aches and I feel sick, the cats are prowling like tigers in the hall - away from the windows. Am signing off for now - have a peaceful night!

Re: Storms

We were informed by our local Weather person on Look East that we'd have a a day of showers or heavy rain with thunderstorms in-between.

By 13:00, with the sun out and temperatures rising I thought Sod this! and went out in the garden!

We were out there until 17:00 and I got quite a lot done - and it didn't rain once!

I find it rather odd that in these days of Hi-tech Weather prediction, nobody, not even the flippin' Met Office seem capable of getting the forecast even close on many, many occasions and, as we British tend to plan our lives around our climate, it b*****s-up your whole day - if you let it!

Got tomorrow sorted and I really don't care what they say the weather's going to do!

Fire and Brimstone, Plagues of Locusts, whatever!

Bring it on!

We're going for a run to the Garden Centre tomorrow morning and have a nice breakfast - just for the craic!!! stevmk2

Re: Storms

Well - that was nasty while it lasted - and I am not convinced that it has gone completely. The air pressure is still uncomfortably high and, although the cats have gone back to sitting on the bed, they are still restless.

They are good weather indicators !

Re: Storms

Hi Mups we've had the odd thunderstorm as we're not prone to them but that said, we've had two routers fried on our computer (not visibly but they were shot/kaput), so...yes we'll always unplug any computer 'stuff'. We're at the end of a road & were told that is the worst for power surge buildup.

I do love thunderstorms though just don't want damage. Our power goes out too sometimes depending on it's mood

Whoops sorry about the double post!

Yes, even I saw this forecast on telly last night, seeing huge swathes of rain for the south east area. Did it rain? Nah. I went to the market and came back with ice cream cones and other frozen food and I feared they would melt - it was that hot! and I went to bed to escape the heat, not going to my allotment till the evening when it had started to cool.
