I have another (much better???) system Mortie darlin' - lift mattress off bed, tip until mattress is laying edge down at 45 o angle. Tuck the two (highest) corners of the sheet into place. Return mattress into normal position and stretch sheet to fit remaining two corners.
What happens if you can't lift the mattress? That one of mine is a really heavy bitch.
Strange, there's no problem with fitted sheets in this house, the duvets are fine too....... No cold feet. Haven't got a lost sock problem either.

My mattress is only a single too, my bedroom is tiny, no room to fling anything. I usually end up rolling around laughing hysterically and find a normal sheet!
