I average 12 texts a month,I find them tiresome and impersonal.

Not sure about impersonal I quite like the ones I get from my hubby he goes a bit mad with the heart smilies

And not to mention incriminating.

As an aside, I read or heard somewhere that some 15% of crims were convicted with the help of their confiscated smart phones.
Not so smart crims.

The other things is that I do not understand text speak.

I even get emails written in text speak.

I have to remind people that if these have to be used in evidence, it does not go down well.

I love the text facility .

I am not a demanding mother and know how busy my son is with a business to run and a young family both of which must take priority in his life.

The occasional text that says simply 'Love you Mum' says a thousand words but mainly 'I know you understand I am busy but I haven't forgotten you and I am here if you need me'

A phone call might be missed, a letter... no time to sent, a Text serves the purpose perfectly

Swim ,my friend has a habit of sending me texts now and again using what I can only call as "code" it isnt even text speak lol.....she sent me a text once and it was encrypted im sure I had to text her back and ask her to ring me cos I had no idea what she just said
I told her she's got to at least make it legible for me ,im not a miracle worker...
