I agree, a shed is not a shed without a few trusted spiders, the head chap in my shed keeps the others in line, I kid you not, he must be about 10 years old now and his body is about the size of an old shilling. When I’m moving something I give him fair warning to evacuate members of his clan by shouting “Time to clear off now Alfie” five minutes later I move in and there’s not a spider in sight. He will sometimes show himself on the bench but keeps a discrete distance, plenty of hammers about and he knows who’d boss, he repays me for having consideration for his family by keeping pesky flies and other crawly nasties at bay, yes me and Alfie get along fine.
