If we knew what would come next it would have been invented.Maybe nothing will surpass the internet as the intelligent youth of today have all had their brains fried by their constant use of mobile phones and searching for that elusive Pokemon cartoon in mineshafts etc.

I suppose inventions that really change our way of life are usually developed over a long period of time. You could argue that the first computer was designed in 1822, 170 years before we all started using the world wide web. Inventions such as 3D TVs are just a progression from the original TV and hologram TV would be the same.If we did ever conquer time travel, I'm not sure if we could ever better that although tend to think that everything has been done but someone always comes up with something.
