I'd never hear that expression, either.

Re: Skin a rabbit

I think its probably a saying from when people used to eat rabbits, this was often during the war when meat was hard to get, people often bred rabbits for themselves &friends & neighbours for a tasty meal, but sometimes on sale in shops.
The rabbit ,once killed had to be skinned & there was an art to this

Re: Skin a rabbit

Friends of ours have ferrets I'm not convinced they'd catch a rabbit they are very well fed and quite cute and friendly. They do have bit of an odour but we are too polite to mention it although I might be nose blind to my dogs because I never find them objectionable and I'm sure some might.

Re: Skin a rabbit

They do make excellent pets and it is only the males that pong.
Incidentally they don't actually catch the rabbits very often, they are used to chase them out of the burrows into nets.

Oh I see they might do that they love chasing their ball and have a long run of tubing they have fun dashing around. Pearl the little girl puts on weight very easily they keep her slim and when she struggles with the tube they know it's time to cut out the treats.

Re: Skin a rabbit

Isn’t the expression “there’s more then one way to skin a rabbit”?

Meaning using wit and conniving to get what you want or own way
