Re: Have You Ever Had A Mad Moment?

They're(archive office) not open til Monday
I won't post until I have the news article as proof that it happened....but I will say it involved the coastguard, police, RNLI, flares and a rescue helicopter.
This coupled with about 8 drunken idiots made for a headline and could be described as a Mad Moment.

Re: Have You Ever Had A Mad Moment?

Another mad moment was when l took my two youngest daughters to Alton Towers. As l had them at an older age l was in my mid fifties at the time. They were going on the various rides and l was watching them from the ground as they whizzed round high up, nearly in the sky!
I felt a bit bad not going on the rides with them and felt l should make the effort. The swings ride looked pretty tame, so l sat in one of the chairs. Next thing, I seemed to be catapulted up into the sky as it went higher and higher and swung out. I was petrified and felt ill. I had seen a sign, 'Children should be accompanied by an adult' and l shouted out, 'Help, l need a parent, l'm so scared'!
No one took a blind bit of notice!!

Re: Have You Ever Had A Mad Moment?

My first car, as I have said before, was a 1938 Austin Big Seven (a four door saloon).
It had character and a mind of its own. I used to fight with it daily

No heating of course, one windscreen wiper, semaphore indicators which were slow to work (and that was if they felt like working).
Hand signals were a bit of a pain in snowy weather, but ... that's life.

So ... quite often, on my way home from work, I liked to make up opera ... and sing VERY LOUDLY in my best male voice

If I was in slow moving traffic, I got some very odd looks and that always made me laugh ... a LOT ... in fact I would often have to pull over and stop to wipe the tears away.

The good old days

It was a mad moment and it would have been great to do it but l think the men in white coats would have taken me away!!

Have you ever had a mad moment or have one you would like to do?
I'd love to hear...feel free to confide! l promise, l won't tell anyone!!
That is my favourite BeeGee song. It always makes me think of the kindest man I ever knew who sadly is no longer with us.

My mad moment ...I would love to parachute out of an airplane some day just to say "I did that!!"

Do a tandem, free fall is the best part of any jump.
Static is an adrenalin buzz but you're under canopy too quickly. 3 seconds.

You'll love it.

Re: Have You Ever Had A Mad Moment?

We were skinny dipping once on holiday, it was on a dark warm evening. My husband wrapped our clothes in a towel and put them on a large rock. There was this huge wave which swept over the rock and took our clothes into the sea. We managed to retrieve them and staggered back to the hotel in soaking wet clothes. The looks we got! We still get the giggles when we talk about it.
