I have never had a shave at the barber's but know people that do. I think it's quite expensive these days.

Good grief what an old thread. Little did I know then that Jenny would pass away 5 months later. I never did go to a barber and I never grew a beard again.

My husband has attended to his own shaving, never had a barber doing it for him. He did have a beard for a while when he was a head teacher, but submitted to one of the kids shaving half of it off for a charity event. He hasn't bothered to grow one since then, especially as they can be very aging. I hate to see men with long bushy beards. There is a guy not far from here who has a very long beard right down to his stomach!

Just as a matter of curiosity, how are long beards kept clean? Do you men have to shampoo them?

Surely it must be like never washing your hair otherwise - agh!
I wonder if beards go into dreadlocks if they are not kept clean?

Come on you men, can you satisfy my curiosity about this please?
