Don't know Mups With younger people who have not been together very long maybe it is to do with 'familiarity breeding contempt' or as with a much anticipated 'purchase' once obtained they don't always live up to expectations leading to feelings of disappointment.

On the other hand I have known of couples who have lived together for years only to break up relatively quickly after getting married.

Probably not statistically significant but marriage does seem to change things
