Never understood how they charge so much for those. Break a piece off, stick it in water and you have another plant.

No Bruce - just for indoors.....
Would I be able to get 'another' plant from the existing one then - if I cut from it later on, when its well established...?

Remember bamboo is just a type of grass, look how easily grass propagates from runners. If you have bamboo in a pot just let it grow and you will find shoots sprouting from everywhere (including the holes in the base of the pot) just divide it and redivide it. If it is the lucky bamboo let it grow then cut a shoot off and stick it in water.
