Hey, swimming is far better than drowning.

Re: So proud!

Taught myself to swim in the local river, but my son got his water wings even younger than me at the local toddler pool. Both of us started with the doggy paddle before learning traditional swimming strokes.

Shame so many have not learned still a great way to exercise especially as we age.

Re: So proud!

Well done to the little un! I'm another who fears the water: I'll only get in the pool with my foam noodle/noddle, whatever it's called. I just go along the widths alternatively on my back then the front. Just don't have the stamina, or strength to swim without it, and believe me I've tried.

Re: So proud!

Well done, we are looking into swimming lessons for Grace in the summer holidays our local pool is running an under 8s course, so have her name down just waiting to hear if she got in. I don't swim and my husband will be post op so need to find a professional to help. If not the boys have said they are both home over Christmas so they have volunteered if we need help.

Re: So proud!

Congratulations to your wee grandson Deb . What an achievement!

I can't imagine life without swimming. I love it. Best to learn young.
