Re: Things you swore you would never do in old age

I always said I wouldnt have false teeth like my parents. They both had theirs out when they were 42 years old and my Mum had them out just because she was petrified of dentists and needed 8 fillings and was frightened of needles. I am now in my 60's and still have my own teeth and although have fillings in some of them can chomp on food still.
Mollie you made me laugh saying that eating sweets, chocolates, cakes etc would give you false teeth. Not true, still have mine and have eaten all of those things.
OB we used to have only one Channel on TV when I was younger. We couldnt afford a TV until I was 10. Then watched a few programmes a night as that was all they had on BBC and then they invented ITV.
I watched gold fish in bowls, twirling flower bowls and someone making a pot on a pottery wheel inbetween the hours of no programmes. BBC never had adverts even in those days.

Well thank goodness the wife has retracted her retirement Meg

Though quite frankly I don't think I have anything to worry about, she puts on all her "face paint" (as I call it) before even answering the door to the Postie!

I swear they made the song "You're So Vain" for her...

Reminded me of the Oscar Wilde quote:

“Every woman becomes their mother. That's their tragedy. And no man becomes his. That's his tragedy.”

Like others, I live in dread of becoming like my mother but there are time when I know I am!

Great Quote from Oscar Wilde, I wish I'd said that.

I hope I never get like my mother. If I do my family have permission to euthanase me.

The only way my family will euthanise me is by whacking me over the head with a log from the fire when I start banging on about the price of diesel for the 100th time
