A good prevention for madness is to be born and bred in Yorkshire and have a Yorkshire mother like mine.I was brought up on:
All the world's queer save thee and me and even thee's a bit queer.
There's nowt so queer as folk.
‘Ear all, see all, say nowt. Eat all, sup all, pay nowt. And if ever thou does owt fer nowt – allus do it fer thissen.
With advice like this it's hard to be mad.
