I don't like 'em, but won't kill.......

Oh yuk!

I have the mother and father of all spiders in the shed. My fault, 'cos although I don't like 'em, I won't kill them. A biggie was razzing round the house a while ago and it had to go. So, me being me, I put it in the shed (cos it was raining!)

I went into the shed to get a plant pot and there it was, about 2X its original size - even stood up to face me. However, as long as I can see 'em, not too bad. Trouble was, when I went to put things away, there s/he was again, accompanied by yet another, just as big.

Mice I have caught with my hands and released, but ask me to do the same with a biggie spider - no way......

Gwyn - why not try this product, spray under sinks at back and doorway
Wont kill them, they just wont enter
There is a pleasant smell at start which quickly fades
Price £3.97 includes postage - to the right at Amazon

http://www.amazon.co.uk/household-s-...o+more+spiders
You may see a couple after spraying as they want to get away

Thanks, Patsy. I truly don't like killing anything, just because I don't like it. I had a mini-invasion of ants, but they can be deterred by wiping your working surfaces with neat vinegar - works a treat!

Gwyn I could never kill a spider. Sounds like it's a big un. Maybe it's wants to be your pet spider

I'm glad you don't kill them. I love spiders, they're fascinating to watch.

Thanks for the suggestion, Myra, but no way! As long as I can see where they are - fine.

I always say to my grandchildren when they scream when a bee comes close 'and how big is that bee and how big are you?'

If only they knew what Nana's like with spiders.......

GW, I had a biggie last year in my lavender and it had the most beautiful webs. Unfortunately, bees were often the victims, but that's nature, red in tooth and claw!

Spiders are our friends and do much good as they eat flies.I always catch them for Mrs P and put them outside somewhere

I don't kill then either, I have a 'catcher' with a long handle handmade of clear perspex, a square 'box' which tapers to a triangle at the handle. You place the box bit over the spider and it has a sliding door which you close and the spider is inside. You can then put it wherever you wish.

I never kill spiders either ... They do good by catching flies.

I catch them and throw them outside. It isn't hard to do and you don't have to touch them. Just put a glass over them and slide a piece of card or something under it.

Carry outside and release.
