So Sad

It is so sad that the 7 year old was allowed to ski alone. My youngest GS is 7 and to imagine him being alone on the slopes makes me shudder, however confident he was,
it is just so very sad.

I agree Apricot, my first reaction was incredulity that a child was allowed to go off on his own. Those parents will regret that decision for the rest of their days, poor poor things.

I agree with you both too. I find it hard to believe that any parent would let a 7 year old go anywhere alone, let alone ski slopes.

Can't imagine allowing a 7 yr old in any country abroad to be on his own. Far less to be on the slopes on his own. Hope that whoever is responsible is brought to task. Very sad for all concerned.

I heard on the news that the little boy requested to go alone for the final ski. A later report said he 'wandered off' from the family I don't know which report is true .

Whatever the case I wouldn't take my eyes of a 7 year old however confident a skier he may have been . Poor little chap getting lost he must have been scared...

I was reading just now that his Mother was looking after his sister who had fallen when he wandered off.
At this stage it's hard to know, I can't imagine letting a 7 year old ski alone down a mountain but the reporting of this may be short of the truth.
Whatever happened life will never be the same again for them, it's a terrible tragedy.

What ever happened I think his parents have been punished enough and he certainly paid a high price too. So sad as the title says.

I was very upset by this and angry at the parents for allowing this to happen ......
Now - I am still sad to think of it, but feel sympathy for the parents, the hardest lesson to learn .......

Yes it is sad but is it really three days` news?? .I wonder if a child has been killed on the roads of this country or Europe since.
