Re: Am I right

You are doing stuff that's important, something will be found to help.

I've found this on Martyn Lewis website there are a number of suggestions on it to help with the worry of bills, maybe something could help.

Don't make yourself ill with worry, channel that stress instead in finding that way out. It's going to be there!

Re: Am I right

Steve, have you considered taking in a lodger as from memory you don't have to declare it. I know its not ideal but it could make a huge difference and it would only be temporary. I had to do it myself many years after a failed marriage and I had the mortgage to pay at a time when interest rates were 16% and the mortgage repayments were the same as my salary. I took on two lodgers over a period of two years until I moved in with somebody else and rented the house out.

I am now self employed and not quite earning a living and get working tax credit which I couldn't do without. My mortgage repayments are small now but I know if ever I found myself in dire straits then I would consider taking in a lodger for a short period, I would probably hate it now as I'm used to living on my own or I would put the house on the market. The worst thing is if you have the house repossessed then you've lost everything.

Anyhow keep sending your cv out to every tom dick and harry!! Hey did I see something a few days ago about somebody walking the street with a plackard saying they were looking for work and he got noticed and now has a job!!

Re: Am I right

What about moving in with your mum as a last resort and renting out your house.

Now there's a surprise

Have you registered with some of the 'contract' agencies, they don't make a penny until they've found you work so there's a powerful incentive for them to search on your behalf.

For the last 15 years of my working life I used one agency and they always found me contracts, not always back to back mind you

Here's a web site which will help you find the right agency for your skills and the type of work you are looking for, I would suggest you tick 'contract' for one search and then try ticking 'permanent' for a second search:-

Yes you did Marian, a young guy who had just started an HND in engineering and was spotted by someone in Rotork a very well respected international engineering company in Birmingham. Thinking outside the box is the expression that comes to mind
