Re: We're the lowest of the low

In southern England they don't realise we're 500 miles to the north, . . . that's 8 degrees further north on the globe, our sunrise can be an hour later than Cornwall's.

Re: We're the lowest of the low

I know in the summer I was talking to a southern friend. I mentioned what a beautiful evening it was and how gorgeous the mountains looked in the shadows. It must have been about 10:30pm and he wanted to know what I was talking about as he was looking at a golf course and it had been dark for sometime.

It's not just UK which is sufering
I thought I'd put the link just to show it's not just the UK (or Gordon Brown)'s problem.
The weather is bad - that's about the beginning and end of it

Re: We're the lowest of the low

This is all very unusual isn't it? Does this temperature change have anything to do with global warming? When all this snow and ice melts it is going to be awful for some places already overwhelmed with floods.

Southerner here I have to admit we are situated right on the coast - not far from Brighton, and normally escape the snow due to the south downs. I can't start to imagine experiencing the temperatures that have been forecast in parts of Scotland.

This is true CC.

Re: global warming, . . where have all the big mouths gone that said the ice caps are melting ?

Wish to hell our street would melt, it's been under 5 inches of solid ice for 3 weeks now, . . "we'll tak the high road" as the song goes, . . yeah, the road's 5 inches higher due to ice, . . what we need is a bunch of MP's sitting in our street blowing all the hot air they usually blow.
