Merkel and the breakup of the EU

Hi

It is sometimes interesting to get a view from the Foreign Press.

The EU has said it has 10 days to save the Schengen free travel area.

The following gives an American view of the situation.

They are not very complimentary of Merkel.

Re: Merkel and the breakup of the EU

She didn’t inform her Christian Democratic Union party or her coalition partners. Nor did she inform the European Commission, the EU’s executive, or her neighbors—except her Austrian counterpart, Chancellor Werner Faymann.

Wow, that's pretty arrogant.

Re: Merkel and the breakup of the EU

I am for the break up of the EU, we are able to manage a small country like this surely,it seems to me that we have given up on england, yes I know its the UK but I am speaking as an Englander, although I dont suppose I should as really I am an Anglo Irish person. So perhaps I should keep quiet.
