Cold weather payments are cash boosts (for paying energy bills) for those on certain benefits when the weather gets especially cold. You get £25 per week if the temperature drops to below zero celsius (or is predicted to) for seven consecutive days between 1 Nov to 31 March.
Don't confuse this with winter fuel payments for the over 60's which are automatically paid each year.
I looked it under our postcode in Essex and said we are not getting any winter payment........feels colder than last year when we did get one though........or was it the year before, i cant remember?

It was last year - just one. Wow that £25 really helped!
