Re: OK - who`s got an empty nest?
My daughter did go at one time with her fiance, they then planned to come back, buy one of our houses (we have three knocked into one) we spend three thousand pounds on planning permission (we had to make a "voluntary" donation to go towards roads and public transport in the area or they wouldn't consider it), they had a mortgage arranged but didn't get as far as contracts being exchanged, and then after gutting said house broke up!Re: OK - who`s got an empty nest?
Empty nest here and must say it felt like a bereavement when the last one left home... It does take a time to adjust and at first I found myself still occasionally setting 3 or 4 places at the table instead of two!Re: OK - who`s got an empty nest?
We have an "upside down" nest! Instead of adult children we have an 88 year old with dementia. I think there is a huge emotional impact on a son or daughter having to care for their own mother or father - quite apart from the practical side of caring.Re: OK - who`s got an empty nest?
Never had a full nest-so don't know what an empty nest feels like
