Re: Gone recently :(

We say farewell to another great star of the screen, Richard Todd who passed away yesterday, aged 90.

He made many brilliant war films including The Dam Busters and The Longest Day and was among one of my favourite early actors.

RIP Richard...

Re: Gone recently :(

Not only a star of war films but an actual participant in the D-Day action, apparently.
90 is not a bad age is it - I hope his end was gentle

That's correct DM, he served with distinction as a para in WW2, . . as you say, he had a good innings at 90.

this is his own words.

Re: Gone recently :(

I just heard about Richard Todd .... aged 90. When he escaped from those black and white war films, he proved to be quite a good actor ..... always a pleasant man.

She was a wonderful actress. I remember her most for her role as Fee McCleary in The Thornbirds. R.I.P.

Yes, another great has left us, . . I saw most of her films, she played Varinia in Spartacus which I thought she did very well.
