Same here, I was born in '52 though! I was more of a beach boys fan at the time, I remember a lot of the songs from 1966, world cup and all that.

Re: The 1960's

i was born in 55, so it was the late 60s for me. but i do remember when we moved into london when i was 9 i was told to keep away from the teddyboys lol
but late 60s i had mini-skirts. anyone remember mary quant. and twiggy when she was a model. my god she has aged really well
when it was the start of the 70s it was coffee bars and rockers. i liked the rockers. (maybe thats why i married a biker)
oh and all the old bikes. google Battlesbridge bike museum.1 of my neighbours has about 6 or 7 old bikes. (i have asked him to adopt me )

The kids had odd toys in those days too, Clackers, Yo-Yo's and hoola-hoops.

Remember the Walkman? The first tape I ever got for it was the Beach Boys, shortly followed by the Mamas and Papas!

Re: The 1960's

I didn't have a walkman till the 80-'s but in the 60's I had what I think was called a Dynatron it was a battery powered record player that was on a strap that hung around your neck and you used to slot records into it , it wasn't very light and you also had to carry a bag of records around with you I forgot I also loved Cliff Richard at that time too ...
Sorry Cathy I was a Mod...

My friend had one of those record players, the youngsters today wouldn't believe it, they were like a vanity case!

Sorry Nero-only know the 125cc-everything else was too heavy for me to handle safely-I was only a slip of a thing

Ah ladies, . . Stiletto heels, remember those ? a lot of public places banned them coz they stuck in the floors.

The comics Beano and Dandy, and petrol was only 50 pence a GALLON.
