Hi
Speaking as an ex Enforcement Officer I have views on this.
It is very sad that leaving will cut the UK off from the EU Databases.
That is definitely a downside.
The upside is we can be more pragmatic about some rules.
Two very dangerous terrorists got away because Belgium prohibits raiding Private Accommodation before 5 am.
Sod that for a game of marbles.
The EU also has stupid rules on Personal Privacy which prevents or causes problems with effective proactive Enforcement.
This is the stupid stuff, it allows Terrorists to carry out huge attacks like Paris and Manchester because we cannot infringe their right to privacy.
Sod that for a game of marbles, down they go to protect the innocent.
I have very simple views on this.
Protections are there to protect ordinary people who are not plotting mass murder.
They are not there to protect Terrorists.
A blunt Northerner, the taxpayer paid me a very good wage to protect the innocents.
They did not pay me to pick up pieces of dead kids and women.
They paid me not to let this happen.
Yes I am a Dinosaur, I am not very PC.
I am glad I am out of it, but also proud to have a trained a few to put protection first.
