During the financial report on the ABC news last week Alan Kohler produced a graph which compared the GFC in the US and Europe with the Asian Crisis 20 years ago.
The GFC was much a much worse crisis yet it has taken Japan 20 years to recover from the Asian Crisis, they are just about out of it now (but only just)
Do you think it will take longer than 20 years for Europe and the US to get back on its feet to the situation before the GFC?
As an aside I go to Malaysia several times a year and there are still the concrete frames of uncompleted buildings abandoned during the Asian Crisis so many years ago. Yet Malaysia is doing relatively well.
