Re: Talk about anything....
Before I share my thoughts, I’d like to start off by saying that I’m an introvert who doesn’t much like close contact with others so to be brutally honest while I hated the reason, I welcomed the social distancing. Being that close to people wasn’t comfortable so I appreciate some aspects of this. I’m not going to lie.Re: Talk about anything....
When I'm out and about I'll strike up conversations with perfect strangers. Despite all the lockdown nonsense nothing much has changed in our cul-de-sac, it's probably brought us closer together with our neighbours if anything, we continue to stand at each others gates and have a nag, and sons, daughters and other family members who live somewhere else have freely visited their parents in the street. Nobody raises an eyebrow. We even had a street party during lockdown on one of the residents special occasions. I suppose we are just one big bubble....Re: Talk about anything....
I don't mind not being able to socialise, because I'm really quite an insular person. Outside of the family, that is. The thing that was hardest for me was during the lockdowns when I was unable to hug my children and grandchildren. That was really, really tough. I was lucky enough to see them because they all live very close, so we could visit and talk from a few metres in their front gardens. But somehow, seeing the little ones so close and not being able to hug was almost worse than not seeing them at all.Re: Talk about anything....
Being at a disadvantage, because of my lack of speaking the language of the Country I live in.. it has changed me dramatically.Re: Talk about anything....
The main thing I don't miss at all is going into the office and commuting. I get a lot more done working from home than I ever did wasting time in endless meetings in person. People just waffle on about their own hobbyhorse in a meeting. At least online you can switch the sound and camera off and get on with some actual work. Plus that commute - what a waste of so much time and energy. I suppose people who live in a shoebox will be happy to go back to a nice shiny office, but I love having the garden and pets and sound of birdsong or classic FM in my working day.Re: Talk about anything....
This is Tabby. My Husband saw the photo yesterday and said what cat is that?
