Here we go again. It's all the fault of women. Who do you imagine campaigned to get the laws that have recently jailed parents for sending their daughter to Pakastan for FGM? Equality is available for all in this country, purely because of the Feminist movement. Those women who have been brought up in Islamic culture know nothing else and, as we all know, it can take many years for someone to break away from indoctrination from birth. Change happens slowly but it is happening here. Mainly thanks to Feminists, although there is a growing section of men who see the light. Pity more women don't.

To be honest, I have yet to see an outspoken feminist who looks sexually attractive.

I sometimes wonder whether they intentionally adapt their appearance to look exactly the opposite of that, or whether they're just born ugly.

Re: Why Don't Feminists Fight for Muslim Women?

It will evidently come as a surprise to you but Feminism is not about looking sexually attractive to men. Try to think of male politicians and count how many are as handsome as - oh George Clooney for example, and you might get some glimmer of understanding of what I mean.

Feminism is about equal rights and responsibilities, about standing up for fairness for all, regardless of gender, race or status. Women comprise the greater part of the human race, do 94% of the work and own under 25% of the wealth. Feminism is about changing that, not about fluttering eye-lashes, high heels and waiting for some man to open the doors for us.

Indeed. It seems to be quite the opposite!

Re: Why Don't Feminists Fight for Muslim Women?

As long as touchy feely liberals keep saying they are happy to wear a shroud and accept male domination progressive Muslim women must feel that they are banging their heads against a brick wall.
Muslim women need the law of the land in the UK to be unequivocally on their side - the side of tolerance and gender equality.None of this limp wristed 'respecting their culture' rubbish!

Legislating what people (male, female or indifferent) may wear would be heading down a very dangerous path ......
