Re: Inherited Memories

People have longed believed that they inherit behavioural characteristics from their parents but this has often been dismissed; it now appears that 'logic' was indeed correct:
I don't find this all all surprising, I think we inherit all kind of traits from our parents

Re: Inherited Memories

I remember we talked about this before and I do believe it happens. I only found out fairly recently that my Mothers Grandfather had been a Goldsmith in Belfast in the 1800's, nobody else on either side the Family was ever in the trade or connected with it. When, by pure luck, I was given the chance to become an apprentice at 14 years of age I jumped at it. I took to the work from day one as if I was born to it, everything came so easy to me and without effort, the Master I was apprenticed to couldn't believe how quickly I came on.
I also get picture flashes, (they don't last more than a few seconds and usually at night,) of a car crash on a country road, I would guess it's in the 1930's, the car is lying on it's side and a girl staggers away from it, I can't see her face but she's wearing a full length black fur coat, my view is from the ground and my right leg is caught under the car, that's as far as it gets. I've been getting these flashes since I was a young man and I'd love to find out what it's all about, maybe I'll have meself hypnotized and see what else is in there, it scares me sometimes, I'm not joking.

Me too. I do believe we should rely on our instincts more and only take what we're told to believe as a sideline; I think we may have lost a fair bit of natural ability to use our senses to our advantage by waiting to be told what is true and what isn't.

Re: Inherited Memories

Very interesting Jem - I would have to look at archive material from the 1930s to see if there is a reference to that crash and see if I picked up anything from it - problem is, it could be anywhere .....

That's quite a vivid image for a random memory. Not surprised it spooks you a bit but I'd be curious as well If you decide to go under the hypnotic spell, you'll have to let us know.
