I don't agree with this. It is not the nature of man to be greedy nor to unnecessarily cause harm to his fellow man.
Man has been placed in a position of survival. He has been placed into an environment in which the requirements for long and healthy life are no longer freely available so that he has to work and toil to acquire them from different sources.
He has been kept ignorant of his heritage, his origins and his true nature and given one overriding life instruction . . . to survive, to persist, to avoid death as long as possible.
Those conditions result in the way that man is, how he operates, how he thinks and how he acts. But none of it is his true nature.
The Bible hints at the true picture though its stories are not meant to be taken literally. There was a time when man (and woman of course) had the Elixir of Life, the Fountain of Youth, call it what you will. The Philosopher' Stone, the Manna from heaven, the Soma, Alkahest, Ambrosia, Nectar of the gods.
With this, man needed nothing more for it gave them all the energy their body's needed to do its thing. Food and drink were unnecessary but a pleasant experience nonetheless. They would not feel the effects of extreme heat or cold and they would live for many hundreds of years. The Bible talks of such people, like Noah for example.
At some point however, this fantastic energy source, the Manna, was taken away, removed from man's grasp leaving him in a position of decay and illness. The idle pleasure of eating became an absolute necessity to provide body energy but it would not be enough to sustain him in the same way as the Manna did. He would have to work for that food too. Grow it, cultivate it, harvest it, prepare it but even so, his lifespan would be reduced from many hundreds of years to a 2 digit figure and he would spend the latter years in old age, with decrepitude and illness.
All this because God or whomever to choose to believe in, took away man's primary energy source, abandoning him to the lesser food sources of the Earth. Everything else that has happened has ensued from that singular event. Man's need to survive, the survival of the fittest, hunger, greed, fighting, wars, the establishment of groups working together, armies, governments, secret societies, power mad moguls and ultimately the ridiculous imbalance of wealth and power mankind currently suffers from.
None of it is man's true nature. It is a nature man has been forced to adopt as a result of having his free energy source removed.
Hard to believe in a loving God that would do such a thing. That would take away our life blood and leave the world in chaos and to reach such an appalling state of misery and suffering on a global scale.
Easier to believe that the great secret of the Manna/Stone has been hidden away by a small collective and protected through centuries of turmoil. A collective who keep the secret for themselves and leave everyone else in a life of slavery and exploitation. Should the secret leak out and the Manna once again be freely available to all, everything would change. Life as we know it would collapse overnight. Finance systems would collapse as we would have no need of them. For a while, there would be utter chaos, but out of that turmoil would come peace, a new world, a world where everyone would be healthy and live 100s of years, a world where man's assault on animals for food would cease, where toiling the fields would cease. Everyone would be free and happy to lead their true natural lives, with each other.
