Thirty Three Lions

Has anyone followed the 33 lions that were rescued from Circuses in Peru and Columbia , and returned to South Africa earlier this summer after lives of sheer torture ?

Some very old, with traumatic stories and some not so old.

The first video to be shown of their rescue, the second of their return to S.A., and if you are interested I can keep you updated with more, including their progress.

I have a great passion for such things and attempting to help others be aware of such suffering that still continues towards wild animals in captivity, but I understand that others don't and wouldn't wish to be bombarded with something that wasn't welcome.
Thank you, Puddle.

Re: Thirty Three Lions

Thank you so much for posting these videos . It was heartbreaking to see the lions in small cages in zoos but then so fabulous to see them in much better surroundings and safe and well cared for

It won't be long before they are popped by some rich trophy hunter I suspect

Re: Thirty Three Lions

That won't happen because they have all had either their teeth smashed in their heads, or been declawed or both, which means they cannot be set free into the wild, but they will have the next best thing eventually, after a gradual process to re-habilitate them and give the medical attention they nearly all require.

That will make it even easier for the hunters, they will be worth more for the country has trophies than the cost of keeping them.

Poor things, I hope they can live out their remaining days in much happier circumstances.

That made me think of a picture in a paper a few days back, of a 14 year old girl proudly standing on a beautiful giraffe she had just shot dead.
Makes you sick to the bone doesn't it.
