Do the same thing with a new Stanley knife blade (like I do on a regular basis) and compare the difference.

When I was a Postman my hands were as rough as 'Bears Bums' [mainly in the winter] and no amount of moisturiser would make them soft [Mrs Fox would not allow me to touch her] and every now and then I would receive a proper paper cut which seemed to take forever to heal up....And so sore.... See what your Postman has to endure just to deliver your post......
