Changed my mind about this one. I wasn't struck at all by the 2nd and 3rd episodes, too many unconnnected storylines crammed in and I felt as if I didn't care about any of them. I did see a quick trailer for Larkrise at the end of 3. but was that a repeat or a new one?

It seemed to me that the writer took a few details of what was happening in the news at the time and tried to be clever and wrap a story like around it then ender up with a kind of unconvincing and inaccurate 'faction'.

Maryl I can't comment on Larkrise, I don't watch it. Having read Flora Thompson's book many years ago (I still have a battered copy somewhere) I found the programme was nothing like the book and a great disappointment .
